This wine ROCKS!!! One of our favorite friends from Napa Valley and resident Mad-Scientist Steve Reynolds has produced another gem from one of the crown jewels of Napa Valley, the Anapurma Vineyard. Anapurma Vineyard spent decades as the unknown backbone to the Shafer Hillside Select Cabernet. By a fluke, it became available in 2003 and Steve Reynolds jumped at the chance to get the prized Stag’s Leap vineyard under contract. This bottling is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc & 2% Merlot. Richly bodied, velvety texture, intense flavors and complex structure are the hallmarks of this bottling. It was showing like a rock star out of barrel and should age for up to 2 decades from bottling. This is a rare treat to find this vineyard bottled on it’s own and to have one masterfully crafted by someone as driven to perfection as Steve Reynolds is truly exciting.
