This could be the buy of the vintage. Dark inky purple with dusty, spicy, graphite laced dark berry fruits on the nose and palate. The palate then evolves into a super creamy, broad offering of fruits with seamless integration of the tannin and a plumy, curranty finish. This is a unbelievably sexy wine that shows a tremendous amount of restraint and elegance but it’s power and strength are evident. This wine is drinking like a 2nd growth from the vintage and is the best Duhart I have ever tasted. Just buy it!!!! Duhart is an adjoining parcel to Lafite and utilizes the same crews, viticulture, selection and winemaking as Lafite. They simply don’t add it to Lafite because of the brilliance of it’s own character and a vintage like 2005 has brought the quality as close as you could ever hope Duhart gets to Lafite in quality and elegance.
