2004 was one 3 day heat-spell away from what many vintners in Napa Valley call the Holy Grail of vintages. Expected to challange 1997 as one of the best vintages ever in Napa Valley; this wine is truly a rare treat. One of the best and most respected winemakers in the World; Tom Rinaldi (20+ years as a head winemaker at Duckhorn), had the pleasure of taking choice fruit from aguably the top 2 vineyards in Napa Valley and make a super exclusive, worldwide top-tier Cabernet. He chose to make just 10 cases and blend in 25% Petit Verdot from these Vineyards to go with the 75% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aiming for the "Wow!!!" facor, Tom blended the knockout 2004 fruit from Oakville's Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wiht the first ever crop of Petit Verdot from the Hewitt Vineyard in Rutherford. both vineyards were first planted in the 1800's and this is the first marriage of the two fruit sources and Wow!!! They definitely got fireworks and produced a rich, creamy wine that gently rolls fromteh front to the back of your palate with wonderful depth, texture and complexity. A tremendously sexy wine that is sure to be a sought after treasure in the future. 10 cases of this wine were produced and is available on a futures bases. Estimated date of release is January 2007
